With the Royals, one thing’s for sure. They’re almost always entertaining. They came away with a 9-8 win over the Twins after blowing a late 8-0 lead at Kauffman Stadium. Minnesota scored two in the seventh, three in the eighth and three more in the ninth to tie it up at eight apiece. Reliever Mike MacDougal allowed the ninth-inning runs off four hits. In the bottom of the ninth, Carlos Beltran led off with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch from Eddie Guardado. Raul Ibanez then drove in Beltran with a single to win it for the Royals. MacDougal got his third win and fifth blown save of the season. Starting Pitcher Darrell May was the victim of his eighth no-decision of the season. He’s 0-3. The victory moved the Royals to within three games of the Twins in the A.L. Central.
