Carlos Beltran and Brent Mayne drove in runs with singles in the first and third innings to give the Royals a 2-0 lead, but Arizona bounced back to win 4-3 on Wednesday. Royals starter Darrell May dropped to 0-3 on the season, allowing all four Diamondback runs in 6 2/3 innings. Junior Spivey and Danny Bautista hit RBI doubles in the seventh inning to give Arizona a 4-2 lead. Carlos Beltran drove in a run in the ninth to make it 4-3. With Beltran at first and Raul Ibanez at third, Michael Tucker struck out with two outs to end the game. The Twins beat the Rockies on Wednesday, moving the Royals back to four and a half games out of first place.
