State officials are warning Missourians about the latest scam going around that purports to be the Spanish lottery “El Gordo,” and requires people to give their bank account information to claim their prize. Usually, people haven’t even entered the lottery. Scott Holste in theAttorney General’s Office says the biggest indicator it could be a scam is when they ask for the bank information. Holste says this doesn’t mean the real European and domestic lotteries aren’t legitimate. He warns Missourians should just be cautious of prizes for lotteries you haven’tentered.
