An early highlight of the special session of the State Legislature takes place around noon today when Governor Bob Holden addresses a joint session of the General Assembly. He’s expected to outline his desire to increase revenues through targeted tax increases. Senator John Russell of Lebanon, the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, believes we could very well some some additional revenues coming into the state, but those could come from legislation already approved during the regular session. Legislators at today’s joint session will also hear from Senate Leader Peter Kinder and House Speaker Catherine Hanaway.
