Jury To Decide Fate Of K.C. School Race Case

June 5, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

A federal lawsuit claiming the Kansas City School District shows preference to black employees has gone to the jury, though the judge in the case says it’s “extremely weak.” U.S. District Judge Gary Fenner says the jury will decide whether former administrator Robert Riggs has made the case that he was passed up for promotion, because he’s Asian American. Riggs claims less-qualified African-Americans were promoted ahead of him.
