They never trailed after that. Tino Martinez’s resurgence continued. He drove in his 11th run in11 games with a single in the third. Miguel Cairo broke an 0-18 slump with three hits, two runs and an RBI. Jason Simontacchi got the win, despite allowing five runs off ten hits. He’s 3-3. Cal Eldred got his fifth save. The Redbirds have now won three in a row for the first time in over a month. They’re a game behind the Cubs and Astros who are tied for first place in the National League Central.
