Bases Loaded Walk Puts Royals Under .500

June 4, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

For the first time this season the Royals are under .500. Last night’s 4-3 loss to the Dodgers put Kansas City at 27-28 on the season. D.J. Carrasco was charged with the loss when he walked Adrian Beltre with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, to end the game. Mike Sweeney’s RBI grounder and Raul Ibanez’s RBI double made it 2-0 Royals in the sixth inning. After the Dodgers tied the game in their half of the sixth, the Royals took the lead back with Angel Berroa’s home run. The lead didn’t last long as Fred McGriff tied it with an RBI grounder.
