Tarpoff Pleads Guilty, But Does He Mean It?

June 3, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri defensive end Nick Tarpoff pleaded not guilty to felony gun charges yesterday, but his plea is expected to change. Boone County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Dan Knight thinks this is a delay tactic so Tarpoff can decide his football future. Tarpoff isn’t expected to be welcomed back to the Missouri football program if he pleads guilty. He’ll meet with a trial judge within in the next two months. In February Tarpoff was arrested when police found a sawed-off shotgun in his Columbia residence. He called police and told them he was shot in the arm by a burglar. He later admitted making up the story, embarrassed that he accidentally shot himself.
