The Central Missouri State Mules have done it again. They earned their third trip to the NCAA Division II Baseball championship game, with an extra inning win last night. The Mules topped Kennesaw St. 6-5 in 13 innings thanks to Odessa, Missouri native Zach Norman. He started a 5-4-3 double play on a bunt and made another defensive gem for the third out in the top of the 13th. Then in the bottom half of the inning, Norman laced a single to bring home the winning run. The hit secured head coach Brad Hill’s 500th career win. It improved the Mules’ mark to 50-7; it’s the fourth straight season CMSU’s won at least 50 games. The Mules are ranked #1 in the nation along with the University of Tampa, who they’ll play in tomorrow night’s championship game in Montgomery, Alabama.
