The federal aid package coming to Missouri as part of the tax cut legislation signed by President Bush is intended as one-time assistance, but it could end up being the first of two or more installments. Senator Jim Talent says the $398-Million should be viewed as a short term solution to a short-term problem. But, he says we could see more money for the 2005 fiscal year if the economy doesn’t turn around. The Holden Administration insists the amount of the federal package is $376-Million – not $398-Million. Talent says he was given the figure of $398-Million from Congressional officials.
