The State Supreme Court has rejected the death sentence appeal of prison inmate Allen Nicklasson. Nicklasson killed a man who had provided him and two friends with a ride after their vehicle broke down in 1994. Nicklasson had claimed his lawyer offered an inadequate defense. The Court has rejected that idea. It also has rejected his claim that his lawyer shouild have objected when he was shackled during the trial. The Court says Nicklasson’s history of violence in custody and lack of evidence that the shackling interfered with his defense makes that argument unconvincing.
