Royals: From Complete Game To Loss

Darrell May was one pitch shy of a complete game but Euribiel Durazo took him deep for a two-run homer in the ninth inning to move the A’s into a 3-3 tie with the Royals. An error and two walks set up Mark Ellis who drove in the winning run off D.J. Carrasco in the tenth inning, giving the A’s a 4-3 win. Kansas City dropped two of three games to the A’s, finishing their six-game road trip with a record of 2-4 They also fell two and a half games behind the Twins in the American League Central. The Royals are off today and open a three-game series at home against the Mariners tomorrow.
