The U.S. Senate has followed the lead of the U.S. House in approving a $350-Billion tax cut package. In addition to tax relief for individuals, the package includes $20-Billion in state aid. Missouri will receive its share of that money. Senator Jim Talent says preliminary indications are Missouri can expect to receive $208-Million in Medicaid dollars and $190-Million for essential government services such as education. Missouri will start receiving the money by early next month. Talent says this should help eliminate the budget shortfall at the state level.
