Education Commissioner Kent King says he’ll be paying close attention to the upcoming special session of the Legislature, now that Governor Bob Holden has vetoed the public schools budget bill – a bill that called for $189-Million in cuts to the school funding formula. King is hoping the special session will result in added dollars for education. But, he’s not optimistic. King says that while the Education Department faces uncertainty, this is a particularly tough time for the schools which now face even more difficulty planning for the coming school year.
