A Missouri business group is sending a message it hopes lawmakers will follow during the upcoming special session of the Legislature. While no date has been announced for the start of a special session, Governor Bob Holden’s budget bill vetoes mean a special session will be necessary. Associated Industries of Missouri is asking state lawmakers to keep a simple message in mind as they take part in that special session. AIM’s President Gary Marble says that message is “Tax Increases – Just Say No!” Marble says tax increases take away money from Missourians who would otherwise spend that money on purchases which would produce revenues that help fund schools and other services. He calls it the law of diminishing returns.
