The Commissioner of Higher Education is pleased with Governor Bob Holden’s announcement that he’ll veto the higher education budget. Quentin Wilson says the veto and subsequent special session will allow lawmakers to think long and hard about the cuts they’ve proposed for the state’s public colleges and universities. The Legislature has appropriated $1,015,000,000 for higher education while Governor Holden is hoping for $1,070,000,000.
