Banks and credit unions across the state are asking those who come through their doors to remove their hats, sunglasses, and hoods. Captain Chris Ricks with the State Highway Patrol, just one law enforcement group backing the program, says the policy – not a law – helps better identify those who might try to rob a bank. Ricks says no one who fails to comply will be denied service. But, he hopes most people will understand why the policy is being put in. He adds it could help cut down on identity theft by identifying those who try to cash in on a stolen i.d. at the bank.
