Kinder Makes It Clear Special Session Will Not Win Governor More Budget Bucks

Senate Leader Peter Kinder of Cape Girardeau has reacted to Governor Bob Holden’s announcement that he would veto the budget bill dealing with the Departments of Health and Mental Health. Kinder says the Governor is mistaken if he thinks he’ll get more money by calling lawmakers into a special session. Kinder says during the budget negotiations, the Holden Administration paid very little attention to the Departments of Health and Mental Health, preferring to focus on education.
