House Speaker Catherine Hanaway charges Governor Bob Holden has kicked off a “campaign of terror” to scare Missourians into raising taxes. Hanaway says the Governor has hardly worked with legislators at all in solving a budget plagued by declining revenue and never rolled out his numbers claiming the budget was hundreds of millions of dollars in the red until after the Legislature approved it. Hanaway says the Legislature will convene for a special session only to approve the budget it did during the regular session and then leave town.
