A federal indictment accuses four men from mid-Missouri of killing two people, chopping up their bodies, and dropping the pieces into the Missouri River. The four men are from Columbia, Belle, Bonnots Mill, and Montgomery City. One of them is still at large. Investigators say the four killed Columbia resident Sheri Montague in 1999 because they were afraid she was going to tell police about their crime ring. They’re also charged with murdering another man who thought he was going to buy drugs from them. The indictment says the four people have been involved in fraud, arson, extortion, robbery, and kidnapping.
