After seven tries the Cardinals finally came away with a win over the Reds. They did it yesterday with a 6-3 victory at Busch Stadium. With the score tied at one in the seventh inning, St. Louis rallied for three runs to take a 4-1 lead. Jim Edmonds belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning to make it 6-1. It was Edmonds eighth homer of the season. But the game didn’t end smoothly for the Cardinals as Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr. singled in runs in the bottom of the ninth to make it 6-3. Garrett Stephenson got the win improving to 3-2 on the season. The Cardinals are now 19-19 and in fourth place in the Central Division. They trail first-place Chicago by four games. The Cubs come to Busch Stadium this weekend.
