St. Louis is one of four finalists to host the 2008 NCAA Women’s Final Four. Other candidates are Denver, San Antonio and Tampa. St. Louis hosted the event in 2001, the year SMS advanced to the semifinals. The Gateway City is also a finalist for the men’s Final Four in 2008-11 and the NCAA Hockey Final Four, also known as the Frozen Four. St. Louis is the only city in contention for all three. They’re already hosting the men’s Final Four in 2005 at the Edward Jones Dome.
