Reed Shuts Out Royals

Rick Reed led Minnesota to a 7-0 win over the Royals with a 3-hit complete-game shutout. In the eighth inning, pitcher Albie Lopez got into a shouting match with Twins third base coach Al Newman and Doug Mientkiewicz. The benches cleared, but no punches were thrown. Runelvys Hernandez fell to 4-3 on the season going five innings and allowing six runs. With the loss, the Royals lead over the Twins is now a game and a half. They finish the series with a 12:05 start from the Metrodome.
