Gephardt To Use Daughter To Reach Out To Gays And Lesbians

In an effort to reach out to gays and lesbians, St. Louis Congressman Richard Gephardt has enlisted the help of his daughter in his bid for the presidency. Chrissy Gephardt is a lesbian. Gephardt is among a sea of Democrats bidding for their party’s nomination to take on President Bush in 2004. He says Chrissy Gephardt will be active in his presidential campaign, especially in his bid to secure the support of homosexual groups. The congressman says his daughter won’t just help the campaign on gay rights issues, but also will work on health care and poverty. Chrissy Gephardt is a social worker, who lives in Washington with her partner, Amy Loder, who also is a social worker.
