FEMA Working To Assess Storm Damage

May 12, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Federal officials are working to assess the damage left in the wake of the violent storms that struck Missouri last week. Eugene Brezany with the Federal Emergency Management Agency says FEMA has set up a headquarters in Springfield as inspectors gather information in southern Missouri. He says federal officials don’t even want to speculate as to how much damage Missouri suffered from the storms. The State Insurance Department says losses to insured property in the state has already exceeded $200-Million, with that total expected to double. Those wishing to report damage to FEMA can call 1-800-621-FEMA, which is 1-800-621-3362.
