Former House Speaker Jim Kreider of Nixa is not a target of an investigation by the State Ethics Commission or the Cole County prosecutor. The State Ethics Commission says a committee with which Kreider was associated last year is a target for investigation, but the prosecutor says the Ethics Commission has cleared Kreider of any wrongdoing. The State Republican Party had complained that Kreider was illegally involved with a committee that attacked his Republican opponent just before last year’s election. Kreider lost the election.
