Federal money to help storm victims is headed for Missouri. President Bush’s disaster declaration for parts of Missouri clears the way for Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, dollars to roll into the state. The agency’s Eugene Brezany says the federal government has grants available for those affected by the storms. And, Brezany says low-interest loans are available to help re-build businesses as well. He says it all starts with a call to FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA, or 1-800-621-3362. Representatives will take some preliminary information over the phone before sending an actual agent out to inspect the damage. He suggests giving good directions because in many cases, road and street signs have been blown away. But, he says if you need help with accommodations right away, call the Red Cross office in your area.
