Senate Rejects Move To Limit Write-In Voting

May 6, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

The State Senate is faced with a choice – save thousands of dollars in election costs or keep our present system that allows write-in voting. Senator Gary Nodler says unopposed non-partisan candidates should be considered elected without an election as a way to save thousands of dollars in election expenses. But he runs into opposition. The Senate has rejected Nodler’s cost-savings plan and has kept Missouri’s laws allowing write-in candidates and write-in voting.
