The Royals did it again. They lost their fourth straight and like the previous three, they blew a lead in the process, falling to the Red Sox 6-5. The Royals took a 5-3 lead thanks to homers from Mike Sweeney, Carlos Beltran and Raul Ibanez. But the Sox countered with runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings. Todd Walker doubled off Jason Grimsley in the bottom of the 8th scoring former Royals Johnny Damon for the winning run for Boston. Grimsley got the loss dropping to 1-2 on the season. Despite the four-game slide, the royals are still in first place in the AL Central, leading the White Sox by three and a half games. They open a weekend series in Baltimore tonight.
