The Environmental Protection Agency’s newest list of impaired waters includes Lake Taneycomo, the Lake of the Ozarks, and Wilson’s Creek – the site of a major Civil War battle – and the Missouri River. The listing does not mean the creeks, rivers, and lakes constitute a public health threat. It means water quality is not at acceptable levels. The EPA says Taneycomo and the Lake of the Ozarks both suffer from low dissolved oxygen levels.
