The Cardinals were 13-4 winners over the Mets at Busch Wednesday night. The Cards scored five times in the first and twice more in the second and never looked back. Albert Pujols hit two home runs and drove in three runs. He now has five homers on the season and is hitting .382 which is second only to teammate Jim Edmonds who’s hitting .389. Eli Marrero and Fernando Vina also went deep Wednesday. Woody Williams battled the flu and got the win in seven innings, improving to 4-0. He allowed two runs, which was all he had allowed in his two previous outings. Williams ERA rose to 1.09. Brett Tomko faces Steve Trachsel this afternoon at 12:10 as the Cardinals look for a three-game sweep and an extension on their three-game winning streak.
