After this weekend’s seven-round NFL Draft former Missouri quarterback Farmer’s name wasn’t called, though few expected him to be taken. After losing his starting spot to Brad Smith last year few though he would have a chance to play in the NFL. But after the draft he was immediately contacted by the Rams and signed to a free agent contract. Farmer and his agent sent out tapes and was invited to workouts where a few teams were impressed with his size, speed and arm-strength. Farmer isn’t guaranteed a spot on the team but he will have the chance to try out. The Rams first mini camp begins a week from Friday.
