A 1947 Missouri Supreme Court ruling that says public employees do not have the same collective bargaining rights that private employees have is being challenged by teachers in Independence. They’ve filed a lawsuit against the Independence School District. The National Education Association says it is leading the suit to keep the school district from changing the way it has discussed issues with teachers for 20 years.
