The University of Missouri and Northwest Missouri State University have decided to end talks about merging the two schools because there’s not time left in this legislative session to get approval. Leaders of both schools say they’re still enthusiastic about the idea, but the discussions are not far enough along to take the issue to the Legislature, which has only three weeks left in this session anyway.
