The Royals are 10-0 at home after yesterday’s 2-1 win over the Twins. Mike Sweeney got the Royals on the board with a solo home run in the fourth inning; it was his fourth home run of the season. Joe Randa broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI double to score Carlos Febles in the sixth inning. The game ended with an odd double play. With one out, Michael Cuddyer hit a fly to center field and Torri Hunter kept running, allowing Raul Ibanez to double him off at second base. The Royals became only the 10th team since 1901 to win their first ten at home. The last team to do it was the 1987 Yankees. The Royals next challenge awaits them in Toronto where they have a three game series with the Blue Jays.
