Former House Speaker Possibly Facing Criminal Charge

April 24, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

The prosecutor in Jefferson City is thinking about filing a criminal charge against former Speaker of the House Jim Kreider of Nixa. The State Ethics Commission has recommended charges be filed against Kreider. It has investigated whether Kreider illegally ran a committee that attacked his Republican opponent just before last November’s election. It’s against state law for candidates to control or create separate committees such as that one. Kreider lost the election. He denies doing anything wrong.
