Governor Bob Holden doesn’t care for the Senate Appropriation Committee’s proposed budget. Holden took advantage of a day the Legislature was out of town to call the news media round and blast Republicans. Holden finds neither the House plan nor the Senate plan acceptable. The House would cut $700-Million from next year’s state budget. The Senate would cut $500-Million and raise an additional $200-Million. Holden wants them to raise $700-Million through increased taxes on cigarettes and casinos. The Legislature has until May 9th to approve a budget.
