A company hired five months ago to help the St. Louis Cardinals find private money for a new ballpark has been fired because one of its principals has been named in a federal terrorism investigation. Team President Mark Lamping says the revelation of the Justice Department leaves the team uncomfortable with Property Funding Group. The Cardinals still plan to open the ballpark for the 2006 season, but they’ve scrapped plans to be the host site for the 2006 All Star game.
