Senate Moving Forward On Tax Plan To Keep Ford In Hazelwood

April 16, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

It might be a futile gesture, but it gives the state a big bargaining chip to try to talk Ford out of closing the Hazelwood plant. The State Senate has advanced a tax break package to offer to Ford, although sponsor John Loudon admits it might not work. Loudon would require Ford to spend about $500-Million in retooling at the factory. In return, the state would put $30-Million into incentives for Ford and its workers.
