It’s hard to believe that over two weeks into the season, the Kansas City Royals have the best record in the American League. K.C. made it 11-1 last night with an 8-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox. After the Royals tied the game in the top of the 8th, Frank Thomas’s second home run of the year, a solo shot, put the White Sox up 5-4. But the Royals responded with four runs in the top of the 9th off Chicago closer Billy Koch. Mike Sweeney’s two-run home run in the 9th put the Royals ahead for good. Albie Lopez (2-0) got the win. Mike MacDougal pitched a scoreless 9th for his seventh save in as many chances.
