The Cardinals overcame an early 3-0 deficit and beat the Brewers 7-5 last night. Brett Tomko gave up three runs in the first inning, but settled down after that and picked up the win. Cards left fielder Albert Pujols left the game in the seventh inning after being hit with a pitch on the right thumb. X-rays of the thumb showed no broken bones, and Pujols is day-to-day.Before the game, Jim Edmonds was named the National League player of the week for April 7-13. During that week, Edmonds batted .471 with a pair of home runs and nine RBIs.
