The Royals are still perfect. They may not be playing perfectly, but they’re winning. Kansas City topped Detroit 4-2 at Comerica Park and improved their franchise-best record to 7-0. Raul Ibanez was 2-4 driving in three runs and hitting his first homer of the season. His two-run blast in the eighth inning gave Kansas City a 4-1 lead. The Royals worked around four errors to get the win. Miguel Asencio allowed up six hits and three walks in five innings to notch his first victory of the season, while Mike MacDougal got his fifth save, despite two ninth-inning walks which eventually led to a run. Between those two shaky performance was a rock solid one. Reliever D.J. Carrasco pitched three innings of relief striking out six batters, allowing one walk and no hits. The Royals open up a four-game set in Cleveland tonight.
