A trial has been tentatively scheduled for May for a north-central Missouri judge accused of taking a bribe and plotting to have a man killed. Sullivan County Judge Jeffrey Sayre of Milan appeared in federal court in Kansas City on Monday to plead not guilty, but Magistrate Judge Robert Larsen ordered Sayre held without bond. Sayre is accused of soliciting a $10,000 bribe to get rid of a drug case, then of attempting to arrange for the person who went to federal authorities to be killed.
