Portions of Missouri are coming out of a nearly-year long drought with some much-welcomed rainfall. Southwest Missouri received record-level snowfalls this winter that helped push back drought there. University of Missouri climatologist Pat Guinan says the northern part of the state was not as lucky over the winter. Guinan says May and June are, on average, the wettest months of the year, with nine to 11 inches of rain falling during that period – not quite the deficit the northwest part of the state is currently under, but if that much rain falls, it will help.
