Cards Sweep Brewers

April 4, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

The Cardinals topped the Brewers 6-4. It was scoreless until Albert Pujols came to the plate in the bottom of the fifth and hit a two-run homer, breaking a scoreless tie. It was his first home run of the season. St. Louis led 6-1 in the ninth, but former Redbird Royce Clayton hit a three run homer off Cal Eldred to cut the lead to 6-4. But Steve Kline got the last two outs for his second save of the season. Garret Stephenson was the winner, going 6 1/3 allowing four hits, two walks and one run. St. Louis faces the Astros at home this weekend.
