If the flight attendants’ union approves a new contract with American Airlines, it could mean every attendant based at Lambert-St. Louis Airport will be unemployed. That’s about 1,800 of them. The new contract calls for layoffs of 2,000 flight attendants. The Lambert flight attendants will lose their jobs because they used to work for TWA, and when American absorbed TWA, those attendants lost any seniority they had built up with TWA.
