Missouri Athletic Director Mike Alden has one less responsibility today. The University of Missouri Board of Curators voted yesterday to take the task of suspending athletes our of the Athletic Department’s hands. An appointed academic advisor will now make that judgment. The Board hopes this will prevent the Athletic Department from being accused of being soft on athletes who get into trouble or are accused of crimes. The Athletic Department came under fire after a one-game suspension on basketball player Ricky Clemons was lifted. Clemons is accused of assaulting a 20-year old woman.
