How do you replace a legend? It’s usually not an easy task. Just ask Wayne Hagin. Jack Buck entertained Cardinal fans from the time he opened up the microphone on KMOX in 1954. When he died last year, many asked who would replace him? Wayne Hagin. He was hired earlier this year. Hagin certainly isn’t a new kid on the block, though he may be new to most Cardinal fans. Hagin comes to St. Louis after spending ten seasons as the Rockies first and only broadcaster. The 21-year veteran also did games for the White Sox, Giants and A’s. On Monday he broadcast his first regular season game for the Cardinals as St. Louis topped Milwaukee in an 11-9 thriller. Photo by Bill Greenblatt, UPI
