The Blues certainly have a flair for the dramatic. St. Louis came away with a 2-1 win over the Panthers thanks to Doug Weight’s power play goal with :02 to go in the game. With just under a minute to go, Florida was penalized for having too many men on the ice, giving St. Louis their only man-advantage of the evening. Cory Stillman and Scott Mellanby assisted on the goal. Eric Boguniecki scored the first goal of the game at the 10:58 mark of the third period. Brent Johnson got the start in goal and was almost impenetrable, kicking away 27 Panther shots on goal. 17 of them came in the third period alone. The victory allowed the Blues to hold on to a share of fourth place in the Western Conference. Tomorrow they face the Red Wings in St. Louis.
