The Department of Revenue is ready to launch a new system aimed at helping law enforcement crack down on lawbreakers who falsify their identification. The Department’s Jim Weber says the system is a mobile computer unit in each police car, which will allow officers to obtain genuine photo IDs of people pulled over. The license check would then be combined with the photo ID on file and be forwarded to the patrol car, where the officer could compare the photo to the person pulled over.
